The pivot from the Britain is broken, markets dont work brigade, they are not creating bargains for everyone, they are manipulating the price for a cheap takeover…to need to get those shorts closing so the price will rise is as hilarious

Aggressive cost cutting and stronger pricing have reversed the slippage in BT revenues in the latest quarter. But questions over future ownership remain. A standstill agreement which prevents the French-Israeli telecoms investor Patrick Drahi from using his 24.5 per cent stake to launch a bid ends on November 24. Drahi currently sits on considerable losses so is unlikely to walk away without exploring ways of releasing value. He may not be the only impatient investor. Deutsche Telecom holds a 12 per cent stake in the group, a remnant of BT’s £12.5billion takeover of mobile group EE in 2016.

Thanks for the sensible thread. I can't work out which way this will go - I hold but with less conviction than a few weeks back, looking at the chart. I doubt UKG will allow a takeover (though with this outfit in charge who knows) so it's down to the business-as-usual numbers. On the positive front the new CEO will make a difference, the risk being the new broom sweeps the dividend under the carpet to pay down the pension deficit and/or debt.

Takeover rumor for VODAFONE

As many observers have said we appear to be in a Doom Loop never being able to breakout before the shorting starts again. The only way to get any value is a takeover but that is difficult for reasons we all know. Government have not helped at all, massive fines all the time and retro suits for allsorts of reasons that weren't questioned at the time. Our Companies are being used as cash machines. We'll just have to see how it pans out but it has been aggressive shorting that has brought this down imo

A possible takeover would help bolster it but the market knows there is no way that it would see the light of day.

Deutsche Telecom and Frenchman Drahi have significant stakes here. At little over £11bn this must be vulnerable to takeover. A staggering collapse here and Vod.

Not good news for BT shareholder's as they were waiting for good news on 26th nov23 regarding takeover of BT unless he found someone to buy his stack for 160p plus.
