Well, despite Pico's constant ramping that was a total non event and I guess that I too will be taking my loss and exiting. Today has not been a good day for me as I have a mercifully small holding in Blnx but had actually been on the brink of doubling up there! I had been looking for AIE on the winners list this morning so doubly gutted to find them on the loosers list instead! There is clearly no momentum behind the sp and I cant imagine what is going to change in the next 3 months that would cause it to bounce back again. The only thing that could possibly change the situation would be a takeover and there has been nothing stoping that from happening for the last 6 months so I will dscount that possibility.
Once again one & all we live in anticipation. Tomorrow will bring more of the same or a takeover announcement. We live in hope!
Hi Brando I have worked in this company and for many years in mainstream Telco I have followed this thread for the last few years but limited to my input previously as an insider and found it really informed and interesting when I joined the company and now my knowledge is no longer so current however my opinion is still my own fwiw The biggest question for me is what value a takeover puts on a product which has a limited shelf life; is out in China (where patent law appears to be irrelevant) and has little protection outside of the speed of change in the industry elsewhere.Consolidation doesn't help either. I think the true value of the company will be seen to be the key individuals who create the products and built the current solution from scratch including hardware and software. With 5G on the horizon that is the value of Anite imo Anyway GLA (particularly the long term holders) I'm out and signing off
Market inital reaction is usually a good indicator of how the sp will behave in the forsseable future and the reaction was a collective shrug of the shoulders. Sentiment is against them and is likely to remain so for a considerable period of time so a takeover is the best chance I have of acheiving break even here. I rememeber investing heavily in Interserve back when the sp was below £2. The business fundamentals suggested that they were seriously undervalued but all the analysts were pretty much in agreement that the sp was fair. The business itself did not suddenly change but for whatever reason analysts started to place much higher targets on the stock and low and behold the sp has risen by over 300% in under 5 years. I do not feel anywhere near as confident in my investment here as I did when buying IRV back in the day
My main hope now is for a takeover as that is the only way I have any chance of recovering my losses in the forseeable future. I had been hanging on waiting for the sale of the travel business as I thought that could reignite the sp and get it moving back towards the 110p region but it is pretty clear that is not going to happen. I never like taking a big loss but in this instance patience has not been rewarded!
So, takeover on the cards after travel sold off you reckon pico?
Well, the highest broker forecast I can find is 120p, so I'll keep both feet firmly on the ground for the time being pico. I hope all you are forecasting comes to pass as I suspect we all do..let's just not forget that we started 2014 at 99p so still a long way back to profit for many, me included. Welcome news today though for sure. My preferred outcome would be a takeover
Picobird I have looking back at the reasons why I first invested and find them all intact. The last H1 results seem to be major factor in the negativity that is common on the thread. My self, I see it as the normal up and down of business. The previous Full Year was good, the outlook is good and from your posts the R&D is going well. Travel which I looked upon as a sideline, used as takeover protection has become a solid visible earner. I am very positive, We are well placed in an expanding market with the correct whistles and bells. What has SPT's or even our own short term share price to do with investment decisions. I hope the bod do have a plan and are not selling Travel just to show some movement. If its not broke don't fix it. I am happy with the board to date ,so I give them the benefit of any doubt. AIE for me is a Hold but I am thinking of adding. cheers
It does not seem long ago when poster were saying thank god for travel protecting us from a takeover. Have things changed so much that we need a takeover to save the company I think not but cannot understand the bod's change of position. do they want a takeover? or do they need the money to invest I would like to see a little more clarity from them . I live in hope. A small but long time holder Cheers
Pico, I'm still with you. Lets wait for the next results and see what they bring. Maybe there will be positive news on the travel front too. As for a takeover, I too am sure it will happen in the next two years particularly if managements options have vested by then.
